My Friend

Today- my friend Lana took me to lunch and gave me this lovely bag filled with goodies- flip flops, a hat, sun screen, and lip gloss. She is so excited that I am going on a cruise that she put this bag together for me. Isn't that sweet?

Photos

This is my friend Lana. Friday of last week we spent the afternoon together. We ate dinner together and then went to get pedicures and manicures. I have been praying for her daily to come to know Christ. We have become very good friends throughout the past year.

Saturday I got up quite early (for a Saturday) and made the hour trip to Pahrump to visit one of my customers. After having an hour appointment with the customer I made the trip back to Las Vegas to meet up with Lana for a community service project of feeding the homeless. The above picture is 1.2 of the boxes that we prepared for the homeless. We put together a lunch bag with a sandwich, a banana, pudding, a granola bar and a bottle of water.

Here is some of the ladies that were putting together the lunch bags.

After feeding the hungry Lana and I went to dinner at Bonito Michoacan a fabulous Mexican Restaurant. I am not much for Mexican food but this place is really good. This picture is of Lana on our way in to the restaurant. She was showing off her new purse.

Then on Sunday- Easter Sunday we had Lana over for lunch. I invited her to church as well but she was not ready for that yet. We keep praying.... She shared with us this picture of Carter with his bunny ears.

That evening Paul got a craving for "torta frita" so we made some for us! Ana and I truly enjoyed this little treat!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Good Friday

Happy Good Friday All- !!!
Today is a short day for me. We close our office at noon! Hooray! I am meeting with Lana, my friend, for lunch. She is taking us to lunch and to get pedicures for the good month we had in March with her company. Then I will be going to Sam's club with her to get lunch meat and bread since we are doing a "feeding the homeless" project tomorrow. We have to make at least 100 sandwiches. I am really looking forward to this project. I find that helping out the community is an excellent way to reach out for the Lord.
I am also making plans for Easter- Ana will be with us and I want to make it a special one for her since her family will not be with her. I am not sure what it is about Easter that I always long to be with my family. Most holidays I handle pretty well- however Easter usually leaves me family-sick- (I don't say homesick because my home is where I live with Paul)
I will have to take some pictures (if I remember) of our day today and tomorrow. I am sure you all would love to see some!
Have a wonderful day my blogger friends!

Update

I just wanted to jot a few lines to update you all on my mother in law- Priscilla Goossen. I spoke to her today for a while. I was refreshing to hear her so upbeat. She seemed so at peace- which really encouraged me. Paul has been somewhat unsettled with all that has been going on with his mother. He has been researching melanoma for hours and hours. The other night he stayed up until 1:00 am just reading about it. We have been praying daily for my in-laws. Well- she will be going in to the hospital on Monday for a test that will determine if the lymph nodes are cancerous. If so, they will be removing them. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Regarding our life- we wake up every morning Thankful for another day. God has blessed us and really- what is there to grumble about???? I can always think of things to complain about but we have been praying and trying to re-adjust how we think of things and how we view situations in our lives. Nothing is too big or bad for GOD and that is what we keep in mind... TAKE ALL YOUR WORRIES to HIM!

I am very excited about our cruise that is coming up! 44 days! It seems like time is just flying by!
