Paul took me to California for the Valentines Weekend. We both had Monday off for Presidents day so we took advantage of the long weekend and had a mini trip.
We arrived on Friday evening and our first stop was for dinner at Chick Fil-A. We do not have one in Las Vegas so going to California where there are Chick Fil-A is a real treat.
We stayed at the Hyatt in Ontario which is right by a mall.
Valentines day was full of adventure! We slept in- which is an extra special treat. We had a wonderful breakfast and then decided to make it a lazy kind of day and just window shop all day. We went to Joann Fabrics, Bed Bath and Beyond, Sports Authority, a bicycle shop and Marshalls. We managed to spend NOTHING... which is really good for us. We always seem to buy something but not this time. By then I was tired- we had walked quite a bit and I just wanted something to drink and to rest a little. We went back to the room and watched the movie Blade Runners. It was pretty interesting- a little on the Bizarre side. By then we were getting hungry since we did not eat anything since Breakfast. Knowing that Valentines dinner is one of those that the nice restaurants ALWAYS get busy and probably need a reservation we decided to be low key and eat once more at Chick Fil-A. Would you believe that it was very busy. I was really surprised. I did not expect a fast food restaurant to be busy.
We sat down to eat and right in the middle of our "romantic" fast food dinner a child comes running in from the play zone and proceeds to empty the contents of his stomach right in front of us. Talk about putting a squash on our "romantic" dinner! We both got up and proceeded to move outside to the outside sitting area where there was a young couple (I'd say 15 or 16) being VERY inappropriate with each other. Paul walks right up to them and says "we are coming out here to sit and be your chaperone" I had to chuckle because they behaved the whole time we were there!
Sunday we took a 45 minute drive to a little argentine market to get some breakfast pastries and some supplies of goodies that we need for our house. (like some yerba mate and crackers) We ate some delicious facturas filled with dulce de leche. I like this market because they are 30-40% cheaper than our argentine market in Las Vegas. We try to stock up on items when we are in California so we do not have to in Las Vegas. The remainder of the day was lazy again- super relaxed and just did whatever we wanted, when we wanted with no time pressures. For dinner we decided we wanted to use some gift cards that we had for Outback and there is one right by the hotel. We got there and the wait was 2 hours!!! 2 hours can you believe it?? Neither one of us wanted to wait that long so we went to the Japanese Steak house that was right next door. Paul and I sat at a teppanyaki table with another 4 people. It was very yummy- but sad all at the same time. The other 2 couples were drinking one beer after another. The ladies had at least 6 each and the men had more than that- what made it sad to me is that the one couple had their two little children with them and there was not a single person that did not drink to be able to drive them home. It bothered me all night. Paul and I both could not believe how irresponsible they were.
Well, the weekend was fabulous with little bumps in the road but those bumps is what keeps the life of the Goossen's really exciting.

Laying it all out there
This year I told myself things would be different. Things were going to change!- at least that's what I told myself.... We started going to a new church and Paul quickly blended in to the men's activities. He has gone to men's breakfasts and also to weekly Spanish men's Bible study. He has really integrated well with the men and truly enjoys the fellowship he has with them.
Lizzie has found a sweet group of widows to fellowship with, who understand her stage in life more than any of us could understand. She also goes to a widows Bible study and has seemed to adjust well to our church change.
Then here I am... Not really plugged in anywhere, not really sure what to do. Most ladies my age are mommies and are in a different season of life then I'm in. I find as of lately that I truly am lonely. Now don't get me wrong... I have family near by, and a wonderful husband but what I lack is a true friend. It's not that I'm not friendly... I'm outgoing, not shy... I'm a giver not a taker. But I haven't for some reason found anyone that I could just be friends with!
My prayer this year has been that God send me a true friend! I need to keep praying.... And need to be thankful for what god has given me so far! Why does is seem so hard for me lately?
Will you join with me and pray? Pray that I be content in my season of life.
I have memorized this verse to help me out!
Psalm 37:4

Giveaway #4
Have you ever heard of Lilla Rose? Well- let me introduce you to Lilla Rose. This is a direct sales company that sells hair accessories.
Have you ever worn one of these?
Up until about 2 years ago these are the clips that lived in my hair. You know what I did not like about them? The fact that after a while my head would hurt from the pressure of using the claw. I also eventually would break them having to spend more money to buy another one. And look at it... BORING. Nothing special to it, just a plain hair accessory.
Then, my sister Lizzie introduced me to Lilla Rose flexi clips- I tried them and found that I did not get a headache from them, they were durable and had some artistic flair to them. I tried the bobby pins as well and totally fell in love with them. The bobbies are some really strong bobby pins. They hold very securely. The clips come in many sizes.
Here is a picture of a flexi clip in my hair.
All this to say.... the giveaway today is going to be this lovely trio. I chose 2 sets of bobbies since I love them so much and the flexi clip is an extra small clip. I chose the extra small Flexi clip so you can also use it on a scarf!
If you are interested in checking out all the styles go here and look at my sisters website. These Flexi Clips make excellent gift to yourself or others.
My sister uses the profit from these sales to help support missions. She has been able to go on several missions trips to New Mexico to help the Navajo Widows and Orphans. She also supports monthly a family that is in training right now to go to Africa as medical missionaries.
Help Lizzie Support missions by checking out her website here and also like her page on facebook here.
I have a special also for NEW customers to Lilla Rose. If you go to Lizzies site and sign up as a customer and buy 3 flexi clips she will send you a coupon to receive 1 flexi clip for free. (rules: value is up to $16; must be 18 years or older; one per household and ships only in the US)
Check out this AWESOME deal.
Now... on to the giveaway- To enter in to this giveaway comment on what kind of clips you use in your hair. Also comment whether or not you have heard of Lilla Rose before.

Update Update Update
It is time to update everyone on our life.
I cannot believe that the last post I had was in November- I guess that is an indication of my busy, busy life.
Let me go back and update you all.
Thanksgiving was a joyous time for us with Paul's parents visiting us. We had a wonderful time of catching up and just enjoying each others company.
December was a whirlwind month. After much prayer and much discussion we started the process of buying a condo for my parents to live at. We found a really nice condo 1.3 miles from our current home. On December 22 we closed on the condo and started to move my parents in to their condo. The last night they spent with us was Christmas night. Then on Friday the 26th of December we moved the remainder of their items to the condo.
They have settled in really well and have made it really cozy and homey.
Another big change in our lives was where we are attending church. After months of praying for clear direction we took the first step and left the church. It was very hard to do which is why we spent many months in prayer about it.
I will be honest.... it was not an easy decision and it was not one made lightly. Many tears were shed on both sides... but we knew what God wanted us to do and we took the step in obedience.
I am reminded of the verses in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Our Season at Canyon Springs Baptist Church has come to an end. This was especially hard for me. I spent many hours praying and pleading God for clear direction. The most important for Paul and I was to make sure that we were following God's lead no matter what the cost-
It's now January and we are finally getting into a comfortable routine and it is time for me to start blogging again. My desire this year is to blog more often. I know that there is family that keeps updated through this blog and I want to make sure to keep it up!
Update on my sister Lizzie- she has been getting much better and the seizures are coming less and less which is a huge answer to prayer. She still occasionally has small mini seizure especially with extra stressful situations. I have figured out that if we keep life as constant and steady as possible she seems to be overall well but when you put her in situations that are new or very stressful her body reacts by giving her a seizure.
Life with Young Living Essential Oils has been wonderful. I can truly say that after a little over 2 months of using them daily I actually do feel better!
I have not gotten sick- when everyone seems to be sick around me, I have more energy since drinking my daily 2 ounces of Ningxia Red, and I wake up rested and refreshed every day.
In celebration of my return to blogging I will be doing a giveaway starting tomorrow. I will be doing 5 giveaways! You heard me right... 5 really special gifts I will be giving away... Make sure to tune in and see what I have to give away starting tomorrow.
See you all tomorrow!!!!

Young Living Orange Essential Oil

Let me introduce you to Orange EO. I have been under lots of stress these past few weeks and developed a few mouth sores. I decided that It was time to do some research on what EO I could use to ease the pain and make it heal quickly. I found several options- one of which was Orange EO. This oil appealed to me the most since it smells yummy and it was going to be put in my mouth.
I put 2 drops in my mouth near the sores and WOW... within 2 minutes the sores no longer hurt. The next morning the sores where almost gone! Orange is now my go to when it comes to mouth sores.
Here are some other uses that I found through research:
- Hypertension

Updates and Exciting News!
WOW- I cannot believe how much time has passed since I last wrote on my blog. It's just an indication of what my life has been like lately. CRAZY busy.
We have had many ups and downs... lately it has felt like more down than ups... But I keep resting on the knowledge that GOD is in total control. Proverbs 3:5 reminds me that I cannot lean on my own understanding on what is going on in our lives. God has a purpose for it all.
A change in our lives this year is the health of my sister. In March, Lizzie gave me the scare of my life. I can honestly say that I have never been so scared in my life. Lizzie had a grand mal seizure on our way home from work. The Lord gives grace.... that is all I need to say.. ONLY with God's help did I make it to the hospital. The whole event was very traumatizing to me. I still on occasion have nightmares of the whole experience. Lizzie has been through MRI's, EEG's several medicines and still we have no real answer to what is causing her to have seizures- which she still has one a daily basis. Praise the Lord that they are mini seizures and not the grand mal ones. It is very hard to see her fragile. I pray for her daily and I'm constantly looking for solutions.... which brings me to the EXCITING news....
In an effort to look for natural solutions for Lizzie I started doing research on Essential Oils. We have a lady at church that is in to essential oils and she has mentioned several times about the benefits of essential oils. I decided that I was going to do some research. I honestly was quite skeptical about using EO's.
I started reading about them- I did research on several companies and found out that there are MANY companies out there. After SO much research I made the decision to join Young Living as a Distributor.
These are the reasons I chose Young Living over the other EO companies:
I received the kit and immediately started to put the products to a test.
The first item I wanted to try was the diffuser. I plugged it in and added lavender oil to the water. The diffuser is awesome. It infused the air with the calming smell of lavender in my room. The whole room smelled really nice. The best part is that I did not have to worry about the water running out- the machine automatically shuts off when the water is low.
Next I wanted to see if frankincense would work on a wart. I did some research about how to remove warts with EO's. My hubby has been fighting a wart on his pinky for over 3 weeks using an over the counter medication. Needless to say it was not getting better and even at one point it looked like mold was growing on it. I took the frankincense and applied directly to the wart.. Only one drop- this stuff is strong. I have been applying it for a week now and the wart is almost gone. The finger is a little dry- I think what happened is the EO dries the area out and kills it- so I have been applying some moisturizer to it as well.
I also did some research on moles and how to remove them. I have been applying Oregano EO for a week to an annoying mole I have on my waist. After a weeks application I am seeing some improvement. The mole seems to be drying up around the edges. I did read that moles can take a little longer to remove- up to 3 or 4 weeks... so I am patiently waiting to see the results with Oregano EO.
I researched seizures and found that there are actual EO's that can trigger seizures- good thing I did some research so that I can avoid those for Lizzie's sake, however I did read that Frankincense can help with Seizures. Lizzie has been applying frankincense EO for a week now to her temples and wrists at night before she goes to sleep. The past 2 days she has not had a seizure- I am not going to say 100% that its the EO because she also did some med changes- But you never know- I just want to start using more natural items.
I have been so pleased with my EO's that I wanted to share. I don't like to push anything on anyone- I sure don't like it when someone does it to me- but I wanted to inform you all of my new discovery and the benefits that I have seen.
I am planning on blogging more about my EO's experience and the different essential oils out there with their benefits.
In honor of my new venture I am going to do a give away- I am going to do a give away of 2 EO's.

To enter please leave a comment- anything will do- Just a comment.... NOW that's easy right?
Be sure to enter by November 10, 2014. I will be drawing a winner on November 11, 2014- to Celebrate Veterans Day.

- Young Living owns their own farms. They have farms all across the world.
- I can visit the farms and participate in the Harvest and distillation process if I want to.
- Young Living is committed to being responsible stewards of the environment.
- All batches of EO's are tested in house and by a 3rd Party testing company to ensure quality.
- All of the pest control done at the farms is done by using EO's.
- Young Living has 20 years of experience and research.
- Young Living does not use OIL brokers. They grow and distill the product.
- Young Living oils are 100% Therapeutic Grade (which is top of the line)

How To Sign Up As A Young Living Wholesale Member (and save 24% on your oils!)
1. Click on the sign-up page. You will need a sponsor in order to get started. My member number is: 2142683 – You can place this in both top boxes.
2. Select “Sign Up As: Young Living Wholesale Member”. This will make you a distributor, if you select customer you will not be getting the wholesale discount.
3. The “Enroller ID” and “Sponsor ID” boxes should already be filled in for you. (you can enter 2142683 if nothing appears in the boxes mentioned)
4. Fill out your name, billing address, shipping address, and contact info. (The reason you are asked to list your social security number is for tax purposes. If you make over $600/year selling Young Living products, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail, as is required by law. Young Living will never share this info with anyone. Alternately, you can use a tax ID if you have one)
5. Create your password and pin which you will use to log in to your account and order your oils. These are good numbers to write down or memorize because you will use them a lot!
6. Select your enrollment order. This is where you can specify which Starter Kit you would like, I recommend the Premium Starter Kit (you get the most for your money). You must sign up with a kit to become a Wholesale Member. To maintain your 24% discount going forward, you only need to spend $50 each subsequent year with Young Living on any product in their store. That’s it! You can also purchase other items at this time if you wish. You will not have a monthly obligation to buy or sell ever!
7. Set up your *optional* Essential Rewards Program. Now don’t be confused by this next step. Buying one of the Essential Rewards kits is not a requirement to sign up as a Wholesale Member! This is a rewards program you can opt into to start earning money back to help pay for your oils. At this point, you can skip this step by selecting “No, thank you. I plan on enrolling in the Essential Rewards Program later”. If one of the Essential Rewards kits looks valuable to you then by all means get one in addition to your starter kit. One of the perks of the Essential Rewards Program is your ability to earn points towards free oils! I am on the monthly ER program and love it, but again it is entirely optional and you can decide to enroll in that at any time. You can read more about essential rewards HERE.
8. Agree to Terms & Conditions.
9. CONFIRM YOUR ORDER. Many folks miss this step and end up not fully checking out. To confirm, the tool will log you in and it will show you your order again and it will make you enter in your payment information again. We wouldn’t want that to happen because then you would not get your oils!
*For those who are more visual learners (like me), HERE is a great tutorial for signing up, and HERE is a short video!
That’s it! Congratulations! Welcome to the amazing world of essential oils!

Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Proverbs 31:15
Proverbs 31:15 King James Version (KJV)
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
1. Her Schedule- What is the first thing we learn about the schedule of God's Proverbs 31 woman? She got up early to take care of her family.
Name some others in the Bible who are noted for early rising.
Genesis 19:27-
"And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:"
Abraham got up early to meet with the Lord.
Psalm 5:3-
"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up."
David prayed to the Lord in the morning.
Mark 1:35-
"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed."
Jesus rose up early to pray.
2. Her Family- How did the godly woman, wife, and mother of Proverbs 31 serve her family at this early hour?
She got up early to prepare the food for the family and to give the tasks to the maidens for the day.
3. Her Plan- Verse 15 is the only verse in this passage from Proverbs 31 that contains three lines. Technically, it's called a triplet. How does the third line read? "and a portion to her maidens"
The Proverbs 31 woman delegated tasks to her maidens. She was well organized and kept a very organized home.
What do these scriptures teach us about the wisdom of planning and organizing?
Proverbs 16:3- "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established"
Proverbs 21:5- "The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want."
What caution should we take as we approach our grand plans according to James 4:13-15?
James 4:13-15-
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
We need to live every day to its fullest... don't procrastinating and trying to put things off to tomorrow. Only God knows what lies tomorrow... Live life honoring GOD today.
DEVELOPING GODLY EXCELLENCE
My schedule- Do I live an organized life. Planning the day out to Glorify God in all I do?
Do I rise early to take care of my families needs?
Do I have a daily plan and stick to it?
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the clear lesson that Proverbs 31:15 gives me. Help me to be an organized woman, to make godly choices. Help me to rise early to tend to my family and their needs. Thank you for the perfect example you gave us with Jesus Christ your son.
In Jesus name I pray
Amen.

16 And
the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her:
and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
18 And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels."

17 So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.

Chapter 6 Discovering the treasures of a Godly Woman
Got some free time to post... so here goes.
Chapter 6- A godly woman is DILIGENT.
Proverbs 31:13 says "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."
The Supplies:
She has to make the product out of raw material
The Work:
Who was benefited by the work of godly women?
Exodus 35:25-26- "And
all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that
which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine
linen.
Chapter 6- A godly woman is DILIGENT.
Proverbs 31:13 says "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."
The Supplies:
She has to make the product out of raw material
The Work:
Who was benefited by the work of godly women?
And
all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats'
hair."- The Israelite people benefited from these godly women.
1 Samuel 2: 18-19- " But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
Acts 9:39- " Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them."- Dorcas made coats and garments for the widows.

it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the
yearly sacrifice.- Samuel benefited from his mothers making of the annual robe.
Acts 9:39- " Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them."- Dorcas made coats and garments for the widows.

- verse 22- "She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple."
- verse 24- " She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant."
My Heart
Am I constantly searching for ways to benefit my family? Am I helping the poor and widows?
Am I a diligent woman?
My Work
Do I have willing hands?
Proverbs 10:4 says "He
becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent
maketh rich."
Proverbs 14:23 says "In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to
penury."
Proverbs 28:19 says "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after
vain persons shall have poverty enough."
*** POINTS TO PONDER***
A willing heart lightens work!
What is my "weaving producing? Is it worthy to hang in the walls of Heaven?
Dear Heavenly Father-
Help me be a diligent godly woman. Help me not to sit idly, but rather be diligent in all my doings. Help me to remember to be willing to help the poor and the widows.
Help me to always be looking for ways to benefit my family.
Thank you for the example that you have given us in the Proverbs 31 godly woman.
In Jesus name,
Amen
