Updates and Exciting News!
WOW- I cannot believe how much time has passed since I last wrote on my blog. It's just an indication of what my life has been like lately. CRAZY busy.
We have had many ups and downs... lately it has felt like more down than ups... But I keep resting on the knowledge that GOD is in total control. Proverbs 3:5 reminds me that I cannot lean on my own understanding on what is going on in our lives. God has a purpose for it all.
A change in our lives this year is the health of my sister. In March, Lizzie gave me the scare of my life. I can honestly say that I have never been so scared in my life. Lizzie had a grand mal seizure on our way home from work. The Lord gives grace.... that is all I need to say.. ONLY with God's help did I make it to the hospital. The whole event was very traumatizing to me. I still on occasion have nightmares of the whole experience. Lizzie has been through MRI's, EEG's several medicines and still we have no real answer to what is causing her to have seizures- which she still has one a daily basis. Praise the Lord that they are mini seizures and not the grand mal ones. It is very hard to see her fragile. I pray for her daily and I'm constantly looking for solutions.... which brings me to the EXCITING news....
In an effort to look for natural solutions for Lizzie I started doing research on Essential Oils. We have a lady at church that is in to essential oils and she has mentioned several times about the benefits of essential oils. I decided that I was going to do some research. I honestly was quite skeptical about using EO's.
I started reading about them- I did research on several companies and found out that there are MANY companies out there. After SO much research I made the decision to join Young Living as a Distributor.
These are the reasons I chose Young Living over the other EO companies:
I received the kit and immediately started to put the products to a test.
The first item I wanted to try was the diffuser. I plugged it in and added lavender oil to the water. The diffuser is awesome. It infused the air with the calming smell of lavender in my room. The whole room smelled really nice. The best part is that I did not have to worry about the water running out- the machine automatically shuts off when the water is low.
Next I wanted to see if frankincense would work on a wart. I did some research about how to remove warts with EO's. My hubby has been fighting a wart on his pinky for over 3 weeks using an over the counter medication. Needless to say it was not getting better and even at one point it looked like mold was growing on it. I took the frankincense and applied directly to the wart.. Only one drop- this stuff is strong. I have been applying it for a week now and the wart is almost gone. The finger is a little dry- I think what happened is the EO dries the area out and kills it- so I have been applying some moisturizer to it as well.
I also did some research on moles and how to remove them. I have been applying Oregano EO for a week to an annoying mole I have on my waist. After a weeks application I am seeing some improvement. The mole seems to be drying up around the edges. I did read that moles can take a little longer to remove- up to 3 or 4 weeks... so I am patiently waiting to see the results with Oregano EO.
I researched seizures and found that there are actual EO's that can trigger seizures- good thing I did some research so that I can avoid those for Lizzie's sake, however I did read that Frankincense can help with Seizures. Lizzie has been applying frankincense EO for a week now to her temples and wrists at night before she goes to sleep. The past 2 days she has not had a seizure- I am not going to say 100% that its the EO because she also did some med changes- But you never know- I just want to start using more natural items.
I have been so pleased with my EO's that I wanted to share. I don't like to push anything on anyone- I sure don't like it when someone does it to me- but I wanted to inform you all of my new discovery and the benefits that I have seen.
I am planning on blogging more about my EO's experience and the different essential oils out there with their benefits.
In honor of my new venture I am going to do a give away- I am going to do a give away of 2 EO's.

- Young Living owns their own farms. They have farms all across the world.
- I can visit the farms and participate in the Harvest and distillation process if I want to.
- Young Living is committed to being responsible stewards of the environment.
- All batches of EO's are tested in house and by a 3rd Party testing company to ensure quality.
- All of the pest control done at the farms is done by using EO's.
- Young Living has 20 years of experience and research.
- Young Living does not use OIL brokers. They grow and distill the product.
- Young Living oils are 100% Therapeutic Grade (which is top of the line)

How To Sign Up As A Young Living Wholesale Member (and save 24% on your oils!)
1. Click on the sign-up page. You will need a sponsor in order to get started. My member number is: 2142683 – You can place this in both top boxes.
2. Select “Sign Up As: Young Living Wholesale Member”. This will make you a distributor, if you select customer you will not be getting the wholesale discount.
3. The “Enroller ID” and “Sponsor ID” boxes should already be filled in for you. (you can enter 2142683 if nothing appears in the boxes mentioned)
4. Fill out your name, billing address, shipping address, and contact info. (The reason you are asked to list your social security number is for tax purposes. If you make over $600/year selling Young Living products, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail, as is required by law. Young Living will never share this info with anyone. Alternately, you can use a tax ID if you have one)
5. Create your password and pin which you will use to log in to your account and order your oils. These are good numbers to write down or memorize because you will use them a lot!
6. Select your enrollment order. This is where you can specify which Starter Kit you would like, I recommend the Premium Starter Kit (you get the most for your money). You must sign up with a kit to become a Wholesale Member. To maintain your 24% discount going forward, you only need to spend $50 each subsequent year with Young Living on any product in their store. That’s it! You can also purchase other items at this time if you wish. You will not have a monthly obligation to buy or sell ever!
7. Set up your *optional* Essential Rewards Program. Now don’t be confused by this next step. Buying one of the Essential Rewards kits is not a requirement to sign up as a Wholesale Member! This is a rewards program you can opt into to start earning money back to help pay for your oils. At this point, you can skip this step by selecting “No, thank you. I plan on enrolling in the Essential Rewards Program later”. If one of the Essential Rewards kits looks valuable to you then by all means get one in addition to your starter kit. One of the perks of the Essential Rewards Program is your ability to earn points towards free oils! I am on the monthly ER program and love it, but again it is entirely optional and you can decide to enroll in that at any time. You can read more about essential rewards HERE.
8. Agree to Terms & Conditions.
9. CONFIRM YOUR ORDER. Many folks miss this step and end up not fully checking out. To confirm, the tool will log you in and it will show you your order again and it will make you enter in your payment information again. We wouldn’t want that to happen because then you would not get your oils!
*For those who are more visual learners (like me), HERE is a great tutorial for signing up, and HERE is a short video!
That’s it! Congratulations! Welcome to the amazing world of essential oils!

Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Proverbs 31:15
Proverbs 31:15 King James Version (KJV)
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
1. Her Schedule- What is the first thing we learn about the schedule of God's Proverbs 31 woman? She got up early to take care of her family.
Name some others in the Bible who are noted for early rising.
Genesis 19:27-
"And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:"
Abraham got up early to meet with the Lord.
Psalm 5:3-
"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up."
David prayed to the Lord in the morning.
Mark 1:35-
"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed."
Jesus rose up early to pray.
2. Her Family- How did the godly woman, wife, and mother of Proverbs 31 serve her family at this early hour?
She got up early to prepare the food for the family and to give the tasks to the maidens for the day.
3. Her Plan- Verse 15 is the only verse in this passage from Proverbs 31 that contains three lines. Technically, it's called a triplet. How does the third line read? "and a portion to her maidens"
The Proverbs 31 woman delegated tasks to her maidens. She was well organized and kept a very organized home.
What do these scriptures teach us about the wisdom of planning and organizing?
Proverbs 16:3- "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established"
Proverbs 21:5- "The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want."
What caution should we take as we approach our grand plans according to James 4:13-15?
James 4:13-15-
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
We need to live every day to its fullest... don't procrastinating and trying to put things off to tomorrow. Only God knows what lies tomorrow... Live life honoring GOD today.
DEVELOPING GODLY EXCELLENCE
My schedule- Do I live an organized life. Planning the day out to Glorify God in all I do?
Do I rise early to take care of my families needs?
Do I have a daily plan and stick to it?
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the clear lesson that Proverbs 31:15 gives me. Help me to be an organized woman, to make godly choices. Help me to rise early to tend to my family and their needs. Thank you for the perfect example you gave us with Jesus Christ your son.
In Jesus name I pray
Amen.

16 And
the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her:
and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
18 And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels."
Rebekah not only gave water to the servant but also gave to drink to the camels- she did this without being told or asked to do.

3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
17 So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
18 And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed."
Ruth went to the fields to provide for food for her and Naomi.

Chapter 6 Discovering the treasures of a Godly Woman
Got some free time to post... so here goes.
Chapter 6- A godly woman is DILIGENT.
Proverbs 31:13 says "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."
The Supplies:
She has to make the product out of raw material
The Work:
Who was benefited by the work of godly women?
Exodus 35:25-26- "And
all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that
which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine
linen.
Chapter 6- A godly woman is DILIGENT.
Proverbs 31:13 says "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."
The Supplies:
She has to make the product out of raw material
The Work:
Who was benefited by the work of godly women?
And
all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats'
hair."- The Israelite people benefited from these godly women.
1 Samuel 2: 18-19- " But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
Acts 9:39- " Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them."- Dorcas made coats and garments for the widows.
The Weaving:
Proverbs 31
1 Samuel 2: 18-19- " But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought
it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the
yearly sacrifice.- Samuel benefited from his mothers making of the annual robe.
Acts 9:39- " Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them."- Dorcas made coats and garments for the widows.
The Weaving:
Proverbs 31

- verse 21- "She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet."
- verse 22- "She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple."
- verse 24- " She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant."
My Heart
Am I constantly searching for ways to benefit my family? Am I helping the poor and widows?
Am I a diligent woman?
My Work
Do I have willing hands?
Proverbs 10:4 says "He
becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent
maketh rich."
Proverbs 14:23 says "In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to
penury."
Proverbs 28:19 says "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after
vain persons shall have poverty enough."
*** POINTS TO PONDER***
A willing heart lightens work!
What is my "weaving producing? Is it worthy to hang in the walls of Heaven?
Dear Heavenly Father-
Help me be a diligent godly woman. Help me not to sit idly, but rather be diligent in all my doings. Help me to remember to be willing to help the poor and the widows.
Help me to always be looking for ways to benefit my family.
Thank you for the example that you have given us in the Proverbs 31 godly woman.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Discovering the treasures of a Godly Woman Chapter 5
A Godly woman is GOOD.
A woman after God's own Heart GIVES-
Because of who GOD is
Because as Christians we are to give
Because as wives we are to give
Because as mothers we are to give
Our Role is to give!
Proverbs 31:12
She will do him good not evil all the days of her life.
1. The gift- A wife gives the gift of goodness.
How did these wives do evil?
3 Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.
4 And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep.
5 And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:
6 And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast.
7 And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.
8 Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.
9 And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.
10 And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.
11 Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?
12 So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings.
13 And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.
15 But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields:
16 They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
17 Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.
18 Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched corn, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on asses.
19 And she said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.
20 And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert on the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her; and she met them.
21 Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good.
22 So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
23 And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,
24 And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be: and let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine audience, and hear the words of thine handmaid.
25 Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.
26 Now therefore, my lord, as the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the Lord hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
27 And now this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought unto my lord, let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord.
28 I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the Lord will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the Lord, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.
29 Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the Lord thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.
30 And it shall come to pass, when the Lord shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;
31 That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the Lord shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid.
32 And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me:
33 And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.
34 For in very deed, as the Lord God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
35 So David received of her hand that which she had brought him, and said unto her, Go up in peace to thine house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.
36 And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
37 But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.
38 And it came to pass about ten days after, that the Lord smote Nabal, that he died.
39 And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the Lord, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the Lord hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
40 And when the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife.
41 And she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.
42 And Abigail hasted, and arose and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.
43 David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his wives.
44 But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.
Describe Nabal:- He was churlish- and evil and his doings.
Describe Abigail:- She was a woman of good understanding and of beautiful countenance.
What foolish decision did Nabal make? He was rude to David and his men.
What did Abigail do? She took supplies and went to David on behalf of her husband. David was going to avenge Nabal and her going changed Davids mind.
What was the outcome of Abigail decision?- she went back to Nabal and told him what she did... God struck him dead. David then took Abigail as his wife.
3. The Extent.
How long did the noble wife dispense goodness? In Proverbs 31:12 it says ALL The days of her life.
Something to ponder....
John Wesleys code for his daily conduct was:
" Do all the Good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
A woman after God's own Heart GIVES-
Because of who GOD is
Because as Christians we are to give
Because as wives we are to give
Because as mothers we are to give
Our Role is to give!
Proverbs 31:12
She will do him good not evil all the days of her life.
1. The gift- A wife gives the gift of goodness.
How did these wives do evil?
- Eve- (Genesis 2:18 and 3:6 says-"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." and "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.") God gave Adam a help meet- but she was NOT a help meet when she disobeyed God and ate of the tree which God had specifically said not to eat of. She was NOT good for her husband in this instance.
- Michal- Davids wife (2 Samuel 6:16 says- "And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.") She despised King David for dancing before the Lord.
- Solomon's wives (1 Kings 11:4 says" For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.") Solomon's wives turned his heart to idols- other Gods.
- Jezebel (1 Kings 21:25 says- "But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.") Jezebel encouraged Ahab to sell himself to work wickedness.
2. The giver.
In Proverbs 31:12 who is the giver of good deeds and acts of kindness? The wife
Look at Abigail- whose husband was awful- who had a difficult marriage.
Read 1 Samuel 25
1 Samuel 25
King James Version (KJV)
25 And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
2 And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.3 Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.

Discovering the Treasure of a Godly Woman Chapters 2-4
While I was away in England I was able to focus on getting 3 chapters done in the Study I am doing- Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman. Finding the time to type it on my blog seems to be a challenge, however, today seems to be quiet so I am going to take a break at work (which I barely get to do) and blog these 3 chapters.
Chapter 2-
Read Proverbs 31:1-9
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
The mother of Lemuel taught his son Godly lessons:
1. Kings are NOT to drink wine- avoid all drink so that you do not get drunk and forget the law- alcohol does alter your judgement.
2. To Judge righteously- be of sound mind.
3. Open thy mouth for the dumb
4. Plead the cause for the needy and poor
5. Give strong drink for him that is ready to perish and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts
Chapter 3-
A Godly Woman is Priceless-
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Virtuous or excellent is found over 20 times in the Bible- it is referred to a force- to mean able , capable, mighty, strong, valiant, powerful, efficient, wealthy and worthy.
Primary meaning involved military strength. It was spoken regarding Men.
Exodus 18:25 And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Joshua 1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
Joshua 6:2-3 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
Ruth 2:1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
1 Samuel 9:1 Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.
I Chronicles 12:25 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
Virtuous or Excellent is used ONLY 4 times to describe women.
Ruth 3:11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman
What was Ruth's character?
Loyal- In Ruth 1:16-18 and in Ruth 2:11 She is LOYAL to her mother in law.
Hard Worker- In Ruth 2:2, 17 & 23 she is described as a hard worker.
How is an excellent woman described? Proverbs 31:10 says "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."- A excellent or virtuous woman is a HIDDEN TREASURE- hard to find and worth more than rubies.
In Proverbs 12:4 it says "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones." and Proverbs 18:22 says "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord."
Last- Proverbs 19:14 says "House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord."
Am I an excellent or virtuous wife... Am I a crown for my husband?
Chapter 4-
Proverbs 31:11- The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
1. The Heart. Her husband has FULL confidence in his wife.
Proverbs 12:4- if a wife shames her husband she is rottenness to his bones.
Proverbs 19:13- a contentious (tending to argument or strife) woman is like a constant dripping.
Proverbs 21:9 & 19- It is better for a man to be alone than with a woman that is quarrelsome
Proverbs 27:15- A contentious wife and a continual dripping are alike.
2. The Trust.
Proverbs 3:5- warns against leaning on your own understanding
Proverbs 11:28- warns against trusting on wealth
Proverbs 28:26- warns against trusting in our own heart
so.... what should we do instead?
Proverbs 3:5 says to Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Proverbs 16:20 says he that trusts in the Lord is happy
Proverbs 28:25 says to look to the Lord to prosper
Proverbs 29:25 says to trust in the Lord and we will be safe
3. The wife guards the reputation of her husband.
How does she better his life as shown in Proverbs 31:11? She guards his reputation so that he has not need of spoil.
and in verse 12? She will do him GOOD not evil
And what is his reputation according to verse 23? He is known at the gates- known for his good.. not bad...
4. Her Contribution
She guards his reputation so that he can prosper.
Things to ponder from these past chapters:
1. Am I an excellent or virtuous woman?
2. Am I a priceless gem to my husband?
3. Am I loyal to my husband?
4. Does my husband have FULL confidence in me.
5.. Do I guard my husbands reputation?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to be an excellent or virtuous woman. I know how short I fall.
Help me to be the kind of wife that my husband finds priceless.
Help me to uphold Paul's reputation in ALL aspects of his life so that he have FULL confidence in me.
Thank you for blessing me with a Godly husband.
Thank you for being patient with me as I learn from your word how to be a Godly Wife.
Help me to apply what I have learned this far!
In Jesus Name I pray.
Amen.
Chapter 2-
Read Proverbs 31:1-9
The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the
son of my vows?Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman- Chapter 1
I have started going through an Elizabeth George Book- "Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman" and I decided that I would blog about each chapter- Keeping notes for me to go back to in the future. If you are reading this... remember I am not a writer- just a simple person with a desire to learn from what I read-
Proverbs 31:10-31 ESV
The Woman Who Fears the Lord
10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
• Her character- List 10 of her character qualities.
Trustworthy- (able to be relied on as honest or truthful)
Resourceful – (able to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties)
Industrious- (diligent and hard-working)
Noble – (having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles/ideas)
Humble – (having or showing a modest or low estimate of one’s own importance)
Compassionate – (feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others)
Optimistic- (hopeful and confident about the future)
Wise – (having or showing experience, knowledge and good judgment)
Honorable – (held in high respect, high esteem)
Faithful – (loyal, constant and steadfast)
My character… Can I truly say that I have these characters? Do I have even one? I am sitting here challenged by this. I want to be able to be called an excellent wife- more precious than jewels.
Dear Heavenly Father- Thank you so much for the example you give us in Proverbs of an excellent wife. Help me to be more like her- Help me be a GODLY woman. I know that I am far from that- But through YOU and with YOU only, I can become a Godly woman. Help me to meditate more in your word and focus more on Godly things.

The Christmas Story
Luke 2: 1-20 New King James Version (NKJV)
And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
Please do not forget the REASON of the CHRISTMAS SEASON!

Our Baby Story
It is amazing how many people make comments that can hurt deeply and they don't even realize it. There is one comment that has hurt me many times over - "when are you going to start your family?" Well, for those who know, I have a family- waiting for me in HEAVEN. Why God chose to take them I will never know... but I trust HIM completely with HIS decision. You are probably wondering what brought this post on.... I guess it was just that comment I got today- you know the one I mean.... the one that can hurt way down to the core of my soul... but I smile and try my best to answer sweetly- and trust me- this is not always easy to do. So, I decided I would blog about my baby story. Now.... just to warn you... I am not a writer- so my grammar will be terrible- But it will be from the heart. Brace yourself for this lengthy story.
Paul and I were married in June of 1998. Since we eloped our biggest hope was that I not get pregnant immediately- you know how we all are- doing the math to see if I "had" to get married. I did not want any questions or speculating. By June of 1999 we found out we were pregnant. I had my suspicions around week 3 but I got it confirmed by week 4. You know that excitement of telling everyone- well, like most people- we told everyone! We were super excited. I had so many generous friends give me hand me downs. My baby collection started to grow. By week 8 we lost the baby. I was sad, but encouraged by the doctor. He explained that most ladies experience a miscarriage and not even know it, wait for 6 months and try again.
Our next pregnancy was in January of 2000 and again a miscarriage in 5 weeks. This pregnancy was not as hard for me- maybe because I just found out and then immediately lost the baby- I had no time for hope, no time to make plans.
April of 2000 I started feeling that queasy feeling again... and started to worry that I was pregnant too soon. I confirmed that I was pregnant and just a little over 4 weeks. I almost did not tell even Paul. I saw the disappointment in his eyes with the last pregnancy and really did not want it to happen again. I told myself not to tell him but I gave it away gagging at the toothbrush. He asked me if I was pregnant and I confirmed it for him. We decided this pregnancy we were going to do things differently. We prayed every day over my belly asking God to protect the baby. I did no housework. Paul pampered me all the time. Then a week before my birthday I lost the baby. We cried... we cried hard. We started to question God. I could not understand what His purpose was in taking my babies from me.
One Saturday at lunch with a friend of ours from Florida she could tell I was not doing well. She told me she would be praying for me. I broke down in front of her (which I really don't do) and told her what I was feeling. She made a comment that hit me right between the eyes.... "They aren't your babies Kathy- they are God's and He wants them with HIM" What was I thinking.... I was focusing on ME and only ME and that was NOT Christ centered. Children are a Blessing from the Lord and they ARE the LORDS.
In February of 2001 Paul and I moved to Las Vegas and in the process of moving I got pregnant again. I confirmed I was pregnant in March. This time I focused on what God wanted. I gave the baby over to Him completely. Once I passed the 8 week mark I started to feel like I could tell people. (After the first miscarriage we did not tell people again!) But Paul was reluctant and asked me to wait until we were half way through the pregnancy. I had a 10 week checkup and actually heard the heartbeat. Super exciting listening to the beat of your baby. I left that doctors appointment happy and confident that all would be fine. Week 15 was another good visit everything looked good. We scheduled an ultrasound for three weeks later on June 11, 2001. Monday morning of June 11, 2001 I woke up and knew something was wrong. Something was just not right and my gut told me that it was going to be a sad sad day. I said nothing to Paul not wanting to worry him for the day. I got ready for the doctors appointment and as the morning progressed the more confident I was of the news I would be getting. Before I left for the doctors I sat down on the bed and prayed for Strength for whatever God had in store for me that day. My little dog Tango also sensed something was wrong... He wined when I left which he had not done in a long time. I remember sitting in the parking lot of the doctors office arriving 20 minutes early and just rubbing my belly and shaking a little (my nerves getting the best of me). I prayed again for Peace and Strenght. The nurse asked me when she saw me if I was nervous... I was... and I admitted it to her. I told her that something was wrong. The nurse prepped me for the ultrasound - the cold jelly they put on my belly made me shiver. She started rubbing the probe on my belly- she abruptly stops and tells me she would be right back. In my mind it was confirmed the baby was gone... No longer living in me. The doctor came in and started moving the probe around my belly over and over. I am not sure how long this process was- to me it seemed like time stood still. The next thing I know they taking me next door to the hospital so that I could deliver the dead baby. Most of the details from there on are blurry... it all happened to quickly. I remember saying I don't want to know the sex of the child.... and then the nurse said- "you want to see her? She is so perfect" I did not see her- I could not bear to see her. She weighed 6.5 ounces. 5 fingers, 5 toes and perfect according to the nurse. I asked to call Paul- he had NO clue what had transpired. I called him and between sobbing I told him what had happened.. He came to be with me and we grieved together.
This is the first time I speak the events of my pregnancies to anyone. Not because we are ashamed- but because for the first time I feel like I can speak it with clarity and without breaking down to cry. God gave me the Strength I needed at the time to overcome that very sad day June 11, 2001.
The next few years brought more pregnancies, 6 more to be precise- each only lasting 4-8 weeks and each with pain and sorrow.
Our last miscarriage was in November of 2004. I remember asking God that if this baby was not going to live to not allow me to become pregnant again and that HE take the desire away from me to have a baby.
You know, God answers my prayers. When He took that final baby home with HIM, HE filled that desire to have a baby.
Now don't get me wrong... I LOVE BABIES... But I am okay if I don't get to have one on earth- I've got plenty waiting for me in Heaven!
Mothers Day and Fathers Day are not particularly easy days for us, since most do not recognize us as parents- but, like Paul said one evening while having dinner with some dear friends the Kendalls, we are parents to 10 precious little ones that are in Heaven Rejoicing with our Saviour.
What do I want out of this post- not pity- because God has used me in many ways with my miscarriages- GLORY BE TO GOD!
What I want is the following:
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Days 21-27
Day 21- Thankful for my job- I was a little grumpy that I had to work a full day (while all our insurance companies closed early) but I reminded myself that I have a job and should be thankful of that.
Day 22- Thankful for Friends to spend Thanksgiving with. I feared I we were going to be alone for Thanksgiving this year - instead we had 11 people in our house!
Day 23- Thankful that I did not desire "things" on Black Friday and was able to sleep in.
Day 24- Thankful for a husband that brought me breakfast in bed- but I quickly realized that breakfast in bed alone is NO Fun... I ate quickly and ran downstairs with Paul.
Day 25- Thankful for caring parents at church who did not bring their sick little ones to church. This makes me VERY happy since I tend to catch whatever they have when I am around them while they are sick.
Day 26- Thankful for a great Weight Watchers meeting. Gotta get back in the swing of tracking what I eat.
Day 27- Thankful for a clean car. Got the car washed and detailed today.

Days 10-14
Time to catch up again!
Day 10- I am so thankful for my health. So many are sick (especially this time of year) with major sicknesses or just common colds, therefore I REJOICE that God keeps me healthy.
Day 11- I am so thankful for all who have/or still are serving in the military. They fight for our freedoms and are GREATLY appreciated.
Day 12- Thankful for a day off to spend with my sister. Lots of running around and getting errands ran but sure worth the time spent with Lizzie- also managed to squeeze in a lunch break with Paul (since he did not have the day off).
Day 13- I am so thankful today for Gods Grace! Without it .... well... I would be a MESS.
Day 14- I am so thankful today for my job. No complaints here when it comes to my job... because I have one- when so many don't!
