Chapter 6 Discovering the treasures of a Godly Woman

Got some free time to post... so here goes.

Chapter 6- A godly woman is DILIGENT.

Proverbs 31:13 says "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."

The Supplies:

She has to make the product out of raw material

The Work:

Who was benefited by the work of godly women?

Exodus 35:25-26- "And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.
And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats' hair."- The Israelite people benefited from these godly women.

1 Samuel 2: 18-19- " But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.- Samuel benefited from his mothers making of the annual robe.

Acts 9:39- " Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them."- Dorcas made coats and garments for the widows.

The Weaving:

Proverbs 31

  • verse 20- " She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy."
  • verse 21- "She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet."
  • verse 22- "She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple."
  • verse 24- " She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant."
My Heart

Am I constantly searching for ways to benefit my family?  Am I helping the poor and widows?
Am I a diligent woman?

My Work

Do I have willing hands?

Proverbs 10:4 says "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich."

Proverbs 14:23 says "In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury."

Proverbs 28:19 says "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough."

*** POINTS TO PONDER***

A willing heart lightens work!

What is my "weaving producing?  Is it worthy to hang in the walls of Heaven?

Dear Heavenly Father-
Help me be a diligent godly woman.  Help me not to sit idly, but rather be diligent in all my doings.  Help me to remember to be willing to help the poor and the widows.
Help me to always be looking for ways to benefit my family.
Thank you for the example that you have given us in the Proverbs 31 godly woman.
In Jesus name,
Amen
